Diary of a Madwoman
An update plus a picspam of family love and a silly one by request

Hi Everyone *waves*

I suppose I should get started, there's some updates on a number of things plus I have my Family Vacation Picspam and one that is rather silly that the lovelies from hpcon_envy will love as requested by the lovely and never duplicated lulabelle72

1) Went to the doctor today. Got some good news for once!

My gall bladder is all right!!!

-Yes I breathed a sigh of relief with that one. The doc then asked if my hernia still hurts, which it does, just not as painful as before.

-I'm scheduled for surgery towards the end of next month.

-I'd be lying if I didn't say I was frightened but somehow the thought of no longer having this pain in my belly button and being able to work out again trumps all!

2) I'm taking my cat Sonic to the vet tomorrow. He's about 12 years old and has been dropping weight like crazy in the past couple of months. He eats and goes potty regularly so I'm worried.

-My Veternarian training (of which I have none) tells me that Sonic has Hyperthyroidism. Tomorrow they are going to run a Geriatric Check on him (who knew there was such a thing lol)

3) Mikey started school today, he's officially in Kindergarten!!

-He did really, really well. I was complimented on how aware and attentive he was today. THis is a big deal because one of Mikey's major educational goals is to get him to sit still and attend to a task for longer than 10 seconds!

-He showed me today that he can not only operate a computer but that he also nows how to point and click with a mouse. Plus he can play "Memory" on the computer with Upper and Lower case letters. I wanted to cry, i was so proud of him!

4) OK on with the Scott Family Picspam and vacation update. (Try to ignore the few pictures of me, I am horrified at myself but am making progress on getting my body back to where it should be)

PLEASE BEWARE THIS HAS A HUGE AMOUNT OF PICTURES!

My Boys

As always, we went to Germany in Epcot and had dinner. It's so much fun in there plus Hubby gets to drink his favorite German Oktoberfest Beer

The Hotel was wonderful, the most comfortable bed ever made. We received 10,000
arriott Points because we had to be moved twice because the carpets in the first 2 rooms were soaked from shampooing.

Hubby thought this was hilarious:

Disneyland...brings back memories. Love the rides. :)

My niece is getting on nicely with her therapy. Keeps racing to my sister the moment play time starts, though. LOL.

First, congrats on the good health news!

Now, about your cat. Yep, when my sweethearts began dropping weight, the thyroid was checked but it turned out to be kidney disease. I learned to give fluid injections and they were fine for years.

:-)

20th-Aug-2008 01:29 am (UTC)
They checked the kidneys and he's all clear!

I feel a great relief about my gall bladder not being damaged, I am quite attached to it

I'm so relieved to hear your health isn't as bad as you feared it was. The hernia surgery will be a piece of cake ;)

I'll say a prayer or two for Sonic :(

Mikey's got the best giggle - and that pic of him on the white horse is absolutely gorgeous!!
19th-Aug-2008 05:11 am (UTC)
Ditto.
20th-Aug-2008 01:36 am (UTC)
I hope so! I will have time off from work which is nice

I hope they have helped *crosses fingers*

Mikey's giggle is the best :) I love the picture on the horse but the one of him smiling with Daddy is my favorite ever

I told you that Disney has a pact with the devil to always have nice weather!

I can't remember if you've ever seen my boys yet. If not, here they are.

*huggles*

What an adorable boy! Disneyland is so much fun! I loved the Everest coaster too, and I'm not a big fan of coasters.

Glad to hear your health is getting better.
20th-Aug-2008 01:39 am (UTC)
Mikey LOVES that coaster so much, he pitched a fit when we didn't go on it for the third time.

I am hopeful that the next few months will bring great things :)
19th-Aug-2008 01:36 pm (UTC)

19th-Aug-2008 01:54 pm (UTC)
Aw, beautiful! Looks like you had a great time. :)
20th-Aug-2008 01:40 am (UTC)
We did, it was nice to get away
19th-Aug-2008 02:37 pm (UTC)
Oh it was YEARS ago that I went to Disney. But I liked MGM the best and LOVED all the effects and staging that went into the Tower or Terror ride! And I loved the Rockin' Roller coaster the best too!!
20th-Aug-2008 01:41 am (UTC)
I love those 2 rides too and Mikey was finally tall enough for both., He was frightened on the Tower of Terror but we refuse to keep him from experiencing new things. Well, we won't put him in a situation that can hurt him but you know what I mean!
19th-Aug-2008 06:46 pm (UTC)
Wow. One of your best journal entries ever! Mikey's laugh--I watched it twice! He and your hubby are adorable together.

I love Disney too. We go every two years (takes that long to save yer pennies!) and we go again this November. I adore the Everest coaster, it's the only Disney pic on my fridge permanently. But the Tower of Terror absolutely rocks. Once you've done it 5 or 6 times, you start to loosen your seat belt a little more, wondering if you'll go all the way up to the ceiling, hehe.

Ticky box pr0n was so... guh. Just... guh. I mean, "Yes"? Yeah, baby. That's where it's at. That's what I'm talkin' about.

Sorry about your cat. These Geriatric blood tests they can run now are very comprehensive, so good luck! With management, most things aren't too bad, and you can hopefully have Sonic for way more years!
20th-Aug-2008 01:45 am (UTC)
Awww, you like my baby boy :) HIs laugh is so contagious, it's impossible to stay mad at him when he lays on the cuteness

We have Season passes for Disney and Universal since we're 2 hours away. Can't afford to renew the Disney ones but we are renewing the Universal ones. I need to have my season pass for when the Harry POtter park opens!

THose rides and Rock n ROller coaster are my favorite. I'm so grateful Mikey's tall enough for them. He's 5 and already 50 inches tall 0.0

I love the "yes" ticky box, reminded me of that naughty fic of yours

They finished up his testing, everything is good they're just waiting on the thyroid results!
19th-Aug-2008 08:31 pm (UTC)
Ah, Disney! We are addicts. :) Did you like the Tower of Terror? It's my favourite. The one in Orlando is MUCH better than the new one in Paris. Doesn't Animal Kingdom rock?
20th-Aug-2008 01:46 am (UTC)
We are addicts too. We ahve season passes to Disney and Universal Studios (Harry Potter Park here I come!)

I love the Tower of Terror, one of my favorites.

Animal Kingdom is really great I just wish they had more shade. it gets hot
26th-Aug-2008 07:33 pm (UTC)
Oh, for an annual pass! And yes, there isn't enough shade in AK - we were there in May 2007 and it was SERIOUSLY hot. Have you been to Discovery Cove? That's next on our list!
19th-Aug-2008 10:10 pm (UTC)
So only the back of you went to Disney? lol Where's your pretty face in these pictures?

So glad you all had a blast! That picture of Shannon carrying Mikey is too adorable.

So glad your gall bladder is alright!!

Hope your cat is alright!

*hugs*
20th-Aug-2008 01:47 am (UTC)
You can see my face in the Everest picture! I'm the fat bloated chick with the glasses. I swear I can't wait until they get my health cleared up, I need to stop swelling from all the meds.

My son can be an angel when he wants to be :)
20th-Aug-2008 09:45 pm (UTC)
1) I'm glad to read the good news. Take care of yourself.

3) I don't know mickey at all but I feel in my bones that he's smart kid and he'll improve a lot a school.

4) you family is so beautiful! *Mickey has a healing and contagious laugh*

Winnieeee, I don't know if you know but Winnie is one of my obsessions

*Hugs*

Oh my goodness, your son is adorable! I just had to leave a comment - I'm heading to WDW tomorrow with hubby and our 3-year-old daughter. And the pic of your hubby at Germany made me laugh... we can NEVER visit without spouse dragging me to that restaurant for litres of lager and more spaetzle than any man should be able to consume in one sitting!

I also wanted to thank you SO very much for rec'ing my story (A Murder of Crows) on The New Library - I was completely stunned and honoured and other adjectives as well.

May I friend you? I promise to be fairly low-maintenance!
