Friday rambling, pics, Hugh and lolz

All I can say is THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY!!

I trust and hope that you all will have a lovely weekend (Or enjoy what’s left of the weekend for some of you)

1) I honestly can’t understand how this is a good idea:

Teri Hatcher will show off her singing skills when she performs on America charity fundraiser "Idol Gives Back" next week. The Desperate Housewives star will hit the high notes on the mini-telethon.

The New York Daily News reports the actress will perform Carrie Underwood’s "Before He Cheats" with co-star James Denton and Hugh Laurie’s celebrity group The Band From TV.

Now I’m not trying to be rude here because I’m sure she can sing a heck of a lot better than me but ………

A) I’ve seen the video of the last time she performed with the band and it wasn’t horrible but still.

B) I want coverage about how awesome the band is, not about Teri Hatcher singing. There hasn’t been a mention really in mainstream media about BFTV performing but now that she’s involved it’s all over the place. Hugh, Greg and the rest are great; why not give them credit where credit is due.

C) She’s singing a CARRIE UNDERWOOD song. I’m sorry Teri, you are no Carrie Underwood. This has the possibility of being cringe worthy and will reflect poorly upon the band.

This sums up my feelings perfectly:

2) Holy Crap!! All I can say is if you have a PS3 or Blu-Ray disc player buy all your movies from Amazon.com. They always have them on sale and have that free super shipper shipping price for orders over $25.00. New releases are usually 30% off.

3) How sad is it that my best friend since I was 10 and I are planning a “Bopper” (Don’t ask, it was our group’s nickname from school) reunion for the soon to be announced New Kids on the Block Reunion tour. *facepalm*

-Yes I am THAT hopeless.

4) I think I’m going to add “Serial Mom” and “American Psycho” to my never ending Netflix queue. I think I’m up to 57 movies in there now.

-Yeah I know, that was random but do you expect anything less form me? :)

5) I’m sad that there aren’t any pictures of Hugh at the Street Kings premiere. From everything I've read (the press releases and such) I believe he was expected to show. Maybe commitments to "House" kept him from being there or that he was late.

-One week everyone and we get to see him on the big screen!!!!

6) I was fiddling around a little bit with the set up of the Alan Rickman community alanbunnies and was using our Hugh Laurie community hughbunnies as a guide. I stumbled upon the fact that we now have 219 Members O_O. Needless to say I am absolutely floored at the response.

-bonorattle Can you believe it!!! Our little community made from adoration and love. I couldn’t be prouder *hugs*

7) This is how life seems to feel on a daily basis and it made me LOL so hard.

Yes! Hence my "Prince Does Not Approve" icon.

I was also disappointed to not see Hugh at the Street Kings premiere, especially considering pretty much everyone else was there and looked happy enough.
But I think Hugh is supposed to be notorious for being very uncomfortable with watching himself, which is something I can totally understand. Has he been known to show up to a lot of his premieres in the past?

5th-Apr-2008 12:38 pm (UTC) - Re: Hugh
Yeah I know he hates seeing himself especially in a dramatic role but as a sign of solidarity I figured me might appear on the red carpet.

I just hope he's still rested and happy between his BFTV gig and house.

I couldn't believe when I read that BFTV mail. I thought they were going to play Minnie the Moocher, Fuck!

219 members? Congratulations! haha My 2nd home.

7)rude but it's true.

have a nice weekend!

congrats on the big 219! well deserved, hughbunnies is a fun place to stomp around. thanks for all your hard work (and bonorattle too!). have a great weekend and here's too many more Hugh-things to talk about. p.s., agreed, the teri hatcher thing makes me cringe, fingers crossed she can pull it off with some degree of charm... although noone could possible be as charming as hugh. :)

Thank you :)

I have deep fears regarding Teri's involvment. I hope I'm wrong
4th-Apr-2008 04:33 pm (UTC)
1) I've been annoyed by all those damn Google alerts too. I'm REALLY going to be pissed if they solely focus on her with the cameras instead of Hugh and the rest of the boys

2) I always forget to look! You'd better let me know the minute House - or any of Hugh's other movies - surfaces.

3) *SNORT*

4) "Serial Mom" is a cult classic! lol
I saw "American Psycho" and appreciated Christian Bale in the role, but the book itself was much better.

5) I'm thinking between House & BFTV, he's a tad too busy to be attending movie premieres right now. Besides, those types of gigs really aren't his thing anyway, you know?

7) That poor animal. lmao.
5th-Apr-2008 12:46 pm (UTC)
1) Once again, we are on the same page. If I get one more message about it! *tears hair out*

3) You love me and you know it ;)

4) Serial Mom is the best. I'll have to add American Psycho to my "Must read books" list.

5) Yeah I know. I just figured he might be obligated to show up.

6) It just shocks me. I love our community
4th-Apr-2008 05:19 pm (UTC)
okay, that Prince animation is about the scarier thing in the world!

You have a best friend from since you've been 10?!i can't keep a good friend for 10 minutes. ROFL

4. ahahah those are about two of the best serial killers films ever made. (i make no sense)

5. I would like to say he didn't make it because he was to busy stuffing my uterus but... :(

Your comments always slay me! *rolls on floor laughing*

I love you!

Look at those rat tails flip in the air while they're dancing!!!!!
4th-Apr-2008 07:31 pm (UTC)
ITA with you about Teri Hatcher. Bitch can't sing or act. She's only relevant because Lois & Clark was the best TV show of the late 90's.

And LOL at the cows!
5th-Apr-2008 12:56 pm (UTC)
I have a feeling that her performance will be an EPIC fail.
4th-Apr-2008 07:44 pm (UTC)
Haha. Funny pic. Prince has the best facial expression. So does this mean I have to watch American Idol? Because I can't stand that show...Teri Hatcher? I mean I loved her in Lois and Clark but I can't imagine her...singing.

Anyway, Shelly I have a copy of Love Actually Soundtrack for you. I got it from Germany so it has some different songs-do you have one already? I can send you a copy?
7th-Apr-2008 01:05 pm (UTC)
I do actually ahve a copy of the German CD but you are such a sweetheart *hugs*
4th-Apr-2008 09:35 pm (UTC)
1C.)I've never heard her sing so I can't even begin to guess how badly she would butcher the song, but I have faith in the guys to help steer her to a better choice if it's not going to work. (Too optimistic?)

3.) Well, I'll be hopeless right along with you. I swear if they come within 3 hours of me, I will become a 10 year old again.

7.) All too true, sadly. But it made me giggle-pee anyway.
7th-Apr-2008 01:07 pm (UTC)
1) It's been taped already and I haven't heard anything yet. I suppose that could be a good thing.

3) My friends and I are already plotting *iz an idiot*

I liked Teri Hatcher when she was Lois Lane. I'm neither liking her now nor hating her, but she does look odd.
