I love his habit of slipping in random and unnecessary, yet hilarious words, such as "frighteningly special". Plus him swearing is always amusing. It was him uttering "shit" off camera when the piano was locked wasn't it?

I assume you've seen the Fry and Laurie series and don't need me to keep giving examples of Stephen's brilliance. He's one of only two (possibly three) comedians that I watch so intensely with my finger on the pause button (although often I count Stephen and Hugh as one) so that I can fully appreciate the joke before being immediately hit with another equally brilliant line. The other is an Australian comedian Shaun Micallef who I have to say is my favourite, to me he is comic perfection, not a single word or a single edit isn't strategically referencing something or deconstructing the entire format. Meh, I could go on but you probably don't know him. Stephen is a close second to him but despite being a great improv comedian aswell, in interviews, this Micallef guy is very serious and pretty much like John Cleese is in interviews. Often times the comedians who are outrageous in interviews are the least funny and the ones who appear to be very restrained are the funniest because their humour is so intellectualised and well, intellectuals are funnier than rambling idiots.

Clearly I'm one of those rambling idiots, as the reply as just proven but I've never mistaken myself for an intellectual or comic genius. Don't suppose you'd want to add my LJ? I don't like a cluttered LJs and just got rid of a bunch last night 'cause honestly, I get bored with people's rants about their day and love posts about funny clips involving Stephen or Hugh, or just random things in general. Basically I feel an obligation as I'd never have seen the clip if I hadn't seen your journal.
